Maxwell Henson
Maxwell David Henson was born October 8, 1987, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to David and Sarah (Cashman) Henson. He spent his early years on Nicollet Island in Minneapolis and attended Ramsey Elementary School. In 1999, he moved with his family to Northfield. He attended Northfield Schools, graduating in 2008. Most recently he was working at Drink Restaurant in the Uptown area of Minneapolis, where on March 23rd, he sustained a traumatic brain injury while protecting a co-worker with an unruly patron. Max was loving, helpful, caring and strong. He enjoyed his friends and was an avid football fan. He recently moved home to help care for his mother. Max was active in helping people recover from addiction. Max was a longtime member of the Youth Board and The Key (Northfield Union of Youth) and was attending Minneapolis Community Technical College (MCTC) - studying economics and photography.
Survivors include his mother, Sarah Henson; his father and step-mother, David and Kimberly Henson; 3 siblings: Sam, Abe and Zoe, all of Northfield; his grandmother, Barbara Cashman of Scottsdale; his grandfather, Robert Henson of Minneapolis; his uncles and aunts: Robert Jr. (Sharon) Henson of Florida, Sandy (Jim) Curfman of Colorado, Laura (Deb) Henson of Minneapolis, Tom (Christine) Henson of Colorado, Steve Henson of Minneapolis, Charlie (Donna) Cashman of Virginia, Ann Neuenfeldt of Arizona, Martha Cashman of Northfield, Kristin Cashman of Minneapolis, Matthew (Karen) Cashman of Elko, Michael of Edina, Noah Cashman of Northfield, Mia Cashman of Arizona; his cousins: Christine, Jeremy, Ashley, Emily, Ryan, Ben, Alex, Jesse, Andrew, Nick, Gigi, Kimesha, Peter, Eleanor, Evan, Grace, Hugh and Caroline. He was preceded in death by his grandfather the Honorable Charles Cashman and his grandmother Jean Henson.
Max passed away on Tuesday evening, March 29, 2011, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, at the age of 23.
A celebration of Maxwell’s life will be at 4PM Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Emmaus Church in Northfield with Rev. Will Healy officiating.
Memorials are preferred to the Maxwell Henson Memorial Fund.
