Maxine Hubbard
Maxine Harriet Hubbard was born April 7, 1925, on a farm owned by Mr. Pye in Northfield Township, Rice County, Minnesota, to John and Mary (Riddle) Marshall. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church and graduated from Northfield High School in 1943. She married James C. Hubbard on November 29, 1943, at her parent’s home in Northfield. After marriage she lived in Austin and worked at the First National Bank. In 1944, she moved to Bremerton, Washington, while Jim served in the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge in April 1946, they returned to Northfield. In September 1953, together they founded College City Beverage which they owned and operated until retirement 1978. In 1979, they moved to Nokomis, Florida where they made their home until returning to Northfield in 2006.
Maxine was a member of the Northfield United Methodist Church and past president, secretary and treasurer of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed living and traveling in their motorhome, spending summers at Crane Lake, MN. and Maggie Valley, NC. Her favorite pastimes were spent hosting large gatherings of family and friends new and old, reading and crosswords.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Jim; 4 sons: Jim Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jerry (Jane) of Northfield, Jack (Linda) of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Jay (Susan) of Venice, Florida; 6 grandchildren: Wendy Gilomen, Sandra May, Nikki Nelson, Trevor Hubbard, Claire Mand, Rob Hubbard; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mildred Smith, and her brothers Vern and Warren Marshall, and daughter-in law Verlie (Jim Jr.).
Maxine passed away February 22 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, at the age of 84.
Memorial services will be February 26, 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Northfield with Revs. Donna Buell officiating. Interment will be in Northfield Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be given in Maxine's behalf to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.

To live meaningfully is pleasing to god and people alike. Very few people remain busy throughout their life. God kept Maxine busy and useful for his purpose. It is difficult to perform different roles in the society, but Maxine accomplished all of them with god's grace. May god recoup the bereaved family. Thanks for the post. buy air purifier

The National Board of Medical Examiners announced that Maxine A. Papadakis, MD was selected as the recipient of the 2010 John P. Hubbard Award. The award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions (watch video from watch anime online) to the pursuit of excellence in the field of evaluation in medicine. Lynn M. Cleary, MD, Chair of the 2010 Hubbard Award Committee, announced Dr. Papadakis' choice at the Annual Meeting of the NBME Membership on March 25, 2010.
