Holmes, Joann C.

81, of Prior Lake, passed peacefully away surrounded by her children and granddaughter on Feb. 15, following a valiant battle with lung cancer. Deeply loved by her family and many friends, Joann was born in South Minneapolis, baptized and confirmed at Nokomis Lutheran Church, and attended Roosevelt High School. She married Dr. Arlo E. Tillisch and, with their children, lived in Webster and Apple Valley. Joann married Robert Holmes of Lisle, Ill., in 1975. Robert precedes her in death. She is survived by her son, Tom Tillisch of Prior Lake; two daughters, Carole (Mark) Engblom of Burnsville, and Susan Skluzacek of Northfield; grandchildren, Mike (Marceil) Skluzacek of Lakeville, Mark (Sharon) Sluzacek of Pequot Lakes, Wendy (Michael) Mowry of Rosemount; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ali Skluzacek, Courtney and Chelsea Skluzacek, Jake Mowry; four stepchildren and their families in Chicago and Nashville, and a brother, Roger Frerichs of Chandler, Ariz. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 at Emmaus Baptist Church with Rev. Will Healy officiating, 712 Linden St. N., Northfield, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.
