Dwayne Allan Olson was born September 27, 1940, in Northfield, to George and Viola (Sorenson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Northfield High School in 1958. After his education he worked as a carpenter with his father. He married Nancy Taplan and they later divorced. In the early 1980's Dwayne moved to Cross Lake, Minnesota. When he returned, he formed Dwayne Olson Construction. He married Lesa LaDonna Gullickson on December 8, 1995, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He continued working as a carpenter until 2002 when he semi-retired. In 2006, Dwayne and Lesa moved to Bullhead City, Arizona, returning to Northfield just recently.

Dwayne was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. While living in Bullhead City they where members of the Lutheran church and Dwayne was active with the choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, trap shooting, bowling and singing. Dwayne was a hardworking man who will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lesa; his children: Corey Albertson of South St. Paul, Abby Albertson of Northfield, Debra McFarlane of Florida, Richard of Florida, Charles and wife Theresa of Northfield; his special grandson, Brody Goehtz; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and their wives: Bryce and Carole of Farmington, Philip and JoAnne of Northfield, Gregory and Sandra of Elk River; his father-in-law, Darold Gullickson of Walnut Grove; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law Donna Gullickson.

Dwayne passed away Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2009, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, at the age of 69.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Northfield with Rev. Craig Ellingboe officiating. Music will be provided by Donna Paulsen. Casket bearers will be Tom Brandt, William Fossom, Woody Schrader, Junior Sellers and Kai Thorson. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Virginia Sorby of Bullhead City. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday beginning at 9:30 AM.

Memorials are preferred to the Dwayne Olson Memorial Fund.
