Dale LeRoy Chambers was born May 27, 1932, in Leola, South Dakota, to Adrian and Christine (Gudvangen) Chambers.  He was raised in the Aberdeen and Faulkton areas of South Dakota and at age 8 moved with his family to Hazelwood.  In a short time they lived in Farmington and Dundas before moving to Hastings.  Following his education he worked various jobs until joining the US Army in March 1950.  He served in the Korean Conflict and following his honorable discharge moved to the Northfield area.  He married Joyce Diana Truair on May 18, 1957, at St. Mark’s Lutheran in Randolph.  After marriage they lived in Randolph a short time before moving to Northfield.  In 1960, they bought Joyce’s parents home and returned to Randolph.  Over the years Dale worked on the railroad with his father-in-law, Frank Truair, worked for Bryan Red Rock, worked for Mortenson Construction as a crane operator and was a member of the Local 49'ers Union.  Eventually he bought his own semi and drove both local and over-the-road until retiring in 1995.  Joyce passed away on December 30, 2005.

Dale was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, VFW, American Legion, Eagle’s Club, had served on the Randolph Fire Department, and was a member and past president of the Randolph Area Historical Society.  He enjoyed working in his wood shop, gardening, traveling in the motor home with Joyce, reading, NASCAR, crossword puzzles, bird watching and fishing.  Dale was a man of good values, honest, hard working, and well respected by those who knew him.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his children: Michael and wife Sherri of Cannon Falls, Cindi and husband Tom Pleschourt of Northfield, Steven of Randolph; 6 grandchildren:  Shauna & Jered Chambers, Tonya and Kyle Pleschourt, Derek Chambers (Karissa Weed) and Joey Chambers; 5 great-grandchildren: Keirya, Tyson, Laytin, Kingston and Lilliana;  2 step-grandchildren: Anita (Jerrad) Page and Tom Pleschourt; 6 step-great-grandchildren: Cody, Makenzie, Chloe, Jacob, Logan and Dylan; 4 brothers: Dwayne (Mavis) Chambers of Arizona, Keith (Laurie) Chambers of West Salem, Wisconsin, Gabriel Larson of Squaw Lake, Richard (Suzanne) Larson of Shakopee; one sister: Gwen Kastner of West Salem, Wisconsin;  2 brothers-in-law: Dick Rasmussen of Northfield, David Skaar of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his sister Betty Rasmussen and his parents.

Dale passed away unexpectedly at his home in Randolph on Monday Morning, February 6, 2012, at the age of 79.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday, February 10, 2012, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Randolph with Rev. Steve Schwartz officiating.  Interment with military honors will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph.  Casket bearers will be Shauna Chambers, Jered Chambers, Tonya Pleschourt, Kyle Pleschourt, Derek Chambers and Joey Chambers.  Visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield.  visitation will continue at the church on Friday one hour prior to the funeral.

Memorials are preferred to the Randolph Area Historical Society or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
