Carol Jean Sorenson
Submitted by Andy Langehough on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 10:58amCarol Jean Sorenson, 78 of Northfield and Owatonna, passed away peacefully Tuesday January 31st with her loving family at her side at the Northfield Care Center in Northfield.
Carol Jean was born October 5, 1933, in Greenvale Township and was the daughter of Harold and Verna (Howland) Muckey. Carol was baptized at the Congregational Church in Northfield. She graduated from Northfield High School in 1952. Before and after graduation, Carol worked at the Chris Christensen Bakery in Northfield.
Larry Foster

At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Kalispell, Montana, and at age 16 to Northfield. He graduated Northfield High School in 1970 and following graduation he returned to Montana. He returned to Northfield in 1971 and began working in the auto parts business. On October 19, 1977, he and Deb (Peterson) DeWolfe were married in Watertown, South Dakota.

He was raised on the family farm at Brick Chapel and baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1939. Following his education he worked on the family farm until moving to Minnesota in the early 1940's. He settled in the Rosemount/Farmington area and worked with electronics and as a mechanic, along with various other jobs. She attended St. Canice Parochial School and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1943. She married Willis “Bill” Weed on October 25, 1947, and in 1948, they moved to Northfield. They later divorced. In 1968, Delores began working at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church and remained there until retiring in 1997. Her service and dedication to St.

Richard Haydon Douglass was born March 18, 1931, in Morris, Minn. to Frank A. and Beatrice (Haydon) Douglass. The family moved to Lakefield, Minn. in 1936. He graduated from the Lakefield Public High School in 1949 and from the University of Minnesota in 1953, the latter with a degree in journalism.

As a girl she moved with her family to a farm near Nerstrand and attended country school. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1937 and received her teacher’s training at Normal School in Red Wing. Her first teaching job was teaching grades 1-8 at a country school near Dennison. She married Eugene Jerome “Gene” Ims on July 3, 1942, at her parent’s farm near Nerstrand.

She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Bryant. Following graduation from Bryant High School in 1945, she attended North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education.

She was raised on a farm near Carleton College to whom her family was an egg supplier. She attended Northfield Schools and after her education worked in the Tea Room at Carleton, spending her summers working at Grandview Lodge at Gull Lake. In 1946, she began working with the Northfield News in the mailing department, retiring in 1982, after 35 years of service. Adeline Pearl Blotter was born on February 19th, 1941 in Underwood, North Dakota to parents Emil and Evelyn. Emil, an amateur accordion player, named his first-born daughter after the 1903 ballad, “You’re the Flower of My Heart, Sweet Adeline.”

Before her birth, her father died, and as an infant she moved with her mother and brother to her grandparent’s farm west of New Market. She attended school and was confirmed at St. Nikolas Catholic Church in New Market. After her education she worked on the farm. She married Martin L.

He was baptized and confirmed at Highland Park Lutheran Church, graduated from St. Paul Central High School in 1951, and received his BA in Radio and TV Communications from the University of Minnesota
In 1956, he joined the US Air Force and served in Special Forces base in Bangor, Maine. He returned to the Twin Cities to work in radio broadcasting at KSTP, hosting “The Elton Ryberg Show”.

Maebel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a woman of steadfast Christian faith who exemplified a life of devotion given to her church, community, family and friends. She touched the lives of everyone with whom she crossed paths and left an indelible mark on each sojourner on her walk through life.
